GED test participants can test 3 times within a calendar year
Participants cannot re-test before 60 days after they have taken the test.

Shortcuts to passing the GED
GED scores

I can use my old GED scores toward my GED exam completion
I must have taken the GED subtest between the years 2002-2014.
I will be required to provide a copy of my GED transcript.
If I do not have a copy of my GED transcript then I can request one from the New York State Education Department.
TASC scores

I can use my old TASC scores toward my GED exam completion
I must have taken the TASC subtest between the years 2014-2021.
I will be required to provide a copy of my TASC transcript.
If I do not have a copy of my TASC transcript then I can request one from the New York State Education Department.
4th Pathway

I can use my High school Regents scores toward my GED exam completion
Passing scores from Regents Examinations taken in high school may be substituted for a corresponding GED subtest
Any passing scores on the Math, Science, or Social Studies regents examinations may be used in place of the corresponding GED subtest.
The Regents English Language Arts Exam may be used in place of BOTH the Reading and Writing GED subtest.
Examinees must take and pass at least one GED subtest (of the examinee's choice) in order to utilize Regents test scores towards earning a New York State High School Equivalency Diploma.
