01. CNA
 

Certified Nursing Assistant

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care to patients. Nursing assistants give personal, hands-on care to patients by aiding with essential daily tasks. These tasks include bathing, dressing, eating, as well as observing & reporting to the LPN/RN, ambulating & repositioning patients, taking & recording vital signs, and communicating with other team members about patients.

  • CNA REQUIREMENTS:  

    • NYC RESIDENCY

    • SOCIAL SECURITY CARD

    • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal status

    • MEDICAL CLEARANCE

    • “CLEAR” BACKGROUND CHECK

02. CCMA
 

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

CCMAs often perform more independent functions than CNAs, though they also report to RN's. A Certified Clinical Medical Assistant has often undergone more training than a CNA to handle more aspects of a patient's care, including duties such as drawing blood, administering intravenous therapy (IV), gathering specimens for diagnostic tests, performing electrocardiograms (ECGs), monitoring the nutritional value of a patient's diet, assisting patients in motion exercises or physical therapy and performing laboratory work. 

  • CCMA REQUIREMENTS:  

    • VALID CNA CERTIFICATION

    • NYC RESIDENCY

    • SOCIAL SECURITY CARD

    • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal status

    • MEDICAL CLEARANCE

    • “CLEAR” BACKGROUND CHECK

03. HHA
 

Home Health Aide

HHA's are responsible for providing personal, health-related care for people in their private homes. These types of people include those who may be disabled, have a chronic illness, are cognitively impaired, or seniors who need additional assistance with activities of daily living.   ADL's are routine activities that people perform daily;  these activities include eating, bathing, dressing,  grooming, and toileting. 

  • CNA REQUIREMENTS:  

    • NYC RESIDENCY

    • SOCIAL SECURITY CARD

    • Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal status

    • MEDICAL CLEARANCE

    • “CLEAR” BACKGROUND CHECK
